Calm. Peaceful. Quiet.
I feel connected to nature, a part of something greater than our little family, greater than our seaside cottage and surrounding gardens. I feel like I am a small part of something important, something clean and pure. Something rich in history and yet somehow new.

Bella: Feeling the powerful calm of a summer sunrise
As we kissed each other good night on New Year's Eve, we bid a sad farewell to a wondrous year, filled with laughter, love, adventures, new friendships and stories we will tell for many years to come. 2013 was a beautiful year.
We snuggled down into our soft cotton sheets, as the ceiling fan blew cool air over our hot skin. We held hands and mumbled for an hour or so until we drifted into a restful slumber at around 9:30PM.
Fireworks on the beach signalled the beginning of a new year, full of possibilities. We blinked in the darkness and looked across at each other, flashes of colour dancing across each others faces as the first seconds of 2014 greeted us. Still in bed, he whispered 'Happy New Year' as we repositioned ourselves and slept in our comfortable summer cocoon until 4AM.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the 52 project in 2013 and will drop in on the 2014 project from time to time. Your kind words of encouragement have brightened my little blog and made me feel connected to you all.
2014 is brimming with possibilities, fresh challenges and new adventures. As always, I will share our adventures with you here. Happy New Year friends.
