Dear friends,
Please be careful. Tropical Cyclone Oswald may have been downgraded to a tropical storm but the disastrous effects can still be felt. Please try to stay indoors and listen for evacuation notices. Our thoughts are with those who have lost their homes and businesses due to the flooding but also those in evacuation centres who are yet to learn of the fate of their properties.
Ex tropical cyclone Oswald has recently arrived here in our usually sleepy seaside town. Take care everyone, please secure things outside, park your cars under shelter, and try to stay high and dry.
If you must drive, please check if roads have been closed due to the flooding and avoid the beaches with the dangerously high tides.
I think Byron and I need to ride this storm out from the safety of our warm beach shack.
